The positive atmosphere at Northwest School for Hearing-Impaired Children contributes to the development of self-esteem in our students. Children experience consistent success in school due to our individualized teaching methods. This results in happy, confident kids who look forward to coming to school each day.

We provide a complete academic program for deaf and hard of hearing children, while also focusing on improving their listening and communication skills. Regular school subjects, such as math, reading, social studies, science, health, music, art, spelling, printing, and writing are taught. In addition, training specifically needed by deaf and hard of hearing children is provided in the areas of:
  • English Development
  • Listening Skills
  • Speech Development
  • Vocabulary Building
  • Social Skills and Self Advocacy

The development of language (English) is an integral part of every activity and subject taught throughout the school day. Class sizes are kept small to ensure the best learning environment for our deaf and hard of hearing students.

"On behalf of our son, we wish to express our appreciation to Northwest School for Hearing-Impaired Children. Their administrators, teachers, and all others work very hard to give our children the opportunity to become the very best they can be." — Parent of one of the students from NWSFHIC
