ur Philosophy. Northwest School For Hearing-Impaired Children has five major educational goals:
 1. To keep children on or near grade level academically.
 2. To teach children to communicate in complete, English sentences.
3. To train children in the best use of their residual hearing (the amount of hearing they still have).  This is called auditory training.
4. To aid each child in developing his/her best speech and lipreading skills.
5. To develop strong self-esteem in our students through the continuous use of encouragement and praise.

At Northwest School For Hearing-Impaired Children, we believe strongly that praise and positive feelings between teacher and student are a very important part of the learning process. This positive atmosphere enhances the development of self-esteem in our students. Our children experience consistent success in school due to our individualized teaching methods. This results in happy, confident children who look forward to coming to school each day.
