We

thrive.

Barbara Luetke

As a teacher, professor, and administrator in Deaf Education for some 40 years, I bring an educational perspective to the Board. I am also the mother of four adult daughters, two of whom are Deaf, and are through college, married, and are working professional jobs. My Deaf daughters were raised on S. E. E. and are successful, cochlear implant users.

I have written seven books in my field and authored over a hundred research articles published in nationally-refereed Deaf Education journals. Although I am retired, I continue to provide workshops about the research of Signing Exact English (S.E.E.) and the listening, speech, and English language strategies that are used at our school. It is my joy to support the administration, teachers, and families of Northwest School for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Children and be a small part of the amazing things they are accomplishing.
